For selfish reasons. That's it.
I needed a place to keep track of my writings and ideas. Substack graciously gave me this space on the internet and helped me set it up.
Why am I here?
I have always enjoyed writing about things that interest me. I was an English minor at university and aspired to be a writer before I discovered that writing is a tough way to make a living. Most gigs are fairly difficult to earn a good living out of. I eventually tried corporate life, business for myself, teaching at a community college, being a stockbroker, and finally back to corporate America, where I am less than two years away from retirement.
With retired life looming, I figured I’d go back to writing, not to earn a living, thank the good lord, because, for the most part, I enjoy doing it. I’m sure I’ll be better off with something to do, as opposed to surfing various screens to wile away the time, although, I will certainly still do plenty of that.
What kind of community is this?
It's a place for thinking, sharing, discussing, and commenting, just like the other blogs.
Specifics?
I know you crave clarity and I would like to give it to you, but for now, we'll have to see. We will know soon enough. I can say that it will be eclectic and varied as I have many different interests as everyone does. Likely topics? Politics (I know), money and finance, selling options, technology, travel, movies, crypto, philosophy, etc. I plan to post once or twice a week, but maybe more.

Thanks for checking it out! JDH
